Celebrating International Day of Yoga

People of all ages congregated at Race Course Grounds in Mysuru on Thursday to celebrate International Day of Yoga. As many as 19 asanas were performed by enthusiasts for over an hour. Authorities were attempting to get over 80,000 people to congregate and create a Guinness and while the exact number of participants is still unclear, Deputy Director of Tourism Department, HC Janardhan says, “We don’t have the exact number of people who participated in International Yoga Day celebrations, but we might have crossed last year’s figure of 55,506. Though, we planned to rope in 80,000 people to create a record, I don’t think we had that many.” Scion of the Mysuru royal family Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, tourism minister Sa Ra Mahesh and others also performed yoga.
