Heading to the Sacramento airport? Hit the ATM before you get there

Heads up, travelers: The ATMs are down at this month, so bring a credit card or stop by a cash machine in advance.

The reason the automated teller machines are offline? The airport is changing banking vendors from Chase to Bank of America, said Laurie Slothower, communications and media officer for the Sacramento County Department of Airports.

“We‘re sorry for the inconvenience,” Slothower said, but setting up new cash dispensing machines and networking connections involves “necessary downtime.”

Slothower said the ATMs are out of commission at both terminals and the rental car center. The nearest cash machine is at the AM-PM Arco gas station between Interstate 5 and the airport, at 6100 Airport Blvd.

All airlines, airport concessions and taxis at Sacramento International accept credit cards, Slothower said. However, accepts only cash or bus passes, so passengers on that transit service should plan accordingly, she said.
