According to sources the total value of the consignments is being estimated between Rs 15-20 lakh and the GST applicable on Pan Masala is 88 per cent which means tax to the tunes of Rs 15-17 lakh was being evaded by the persons running the racket of transportation of goods without bill.

Giving more information about the catch, Joint Director of investigation wing HPS Ghotra said, “This was another successful operation by our team as the facilitators of these goods were operating in such hi-tech manner that they first used to despatch an advance party on the route to ensure that there is no kind of checking or any tax official on inspection.
