Police driver wants case quashed

KOCHI: The who was allegedly assaulted by an ADGP’s daughter while taking her and mother home from their morning walk has approached the high ourt to quash the counter case filed against him.

Driver Gavaskar Abdul Kharim was booked by Museum in Thiruvananthapuram for uttering obscenity and outraging modesty on a complaint filed by Snigdha Kumar, daughter of ADGP Sudesh Kumar. The complaint was allegedly filed after the driver filed a complaint against the ADGP’s daughter for verbal abuse and assault.

The petition filed by the driver through advocate Sasthamangalam S Ajith Kumar said he was condemned to do menial jobs, including bathing the officer’s dog, by the ADGP and his family and he was verbally abused by the ADGP and his wife and daughter if he refused to carry out the jobs.

As per the petition, the ADGP’s daughter verbally abused him on the evening of June 13 by stating that he had a love affair with a woman coach at the police stadium. The abuse was informed to the ADGP by the driver. While taking the ADGP’s daughter and mother for morning walk the next day, the daughter verbally abused him. When the abuse continued, the driver stopped the car by the roadside. The daughter beat the driver repeatedly and left in an autorickshaw along with her mother, the petition said. Seeking to quash the case registered on the basis of the complaint filed by the ADGP’s daughter, the driver contends that it is a false case and is intended to taking vengeance on him for refusing to withdraw the police complaint against the ADGP’s daughter.
